Quality Manager - Reynosa

C&D TECHNOLOGIES, INC. is a publicly held, global, high-tech manufacturer of power conversion and storage systems. We currently have an opening for a Quality Manager in our Reynosa, Mexico facility.

Under general direction, the Quality Manager designs, develops, installs, maintains and audits systems, programs and procedures for plant quality assurance.  Monitors and evaluates materials, components and processes to ensure finished product adherence to specifications, quality standards, and customer.  Manages and drives Six Sigma, ISO and TL9000 programs.  Manages plant warranty customer complaint and supplier quality programs.

Responsibilities:

• Develops and installs quality assurance systems, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
• Establishes quality goals and objectives with Plant Manager.  Identifies tasks needed to be performed to achieve these goals and objectives and evaluates progress towards their achievement.
• Jointly with materials management, manufacturing and engineering personnel, lead initiatives, identify opportunities to improve processes, materials, designs which lead to reduced cost of quality and improve productivity and customer satisfaction through Six Sigma and Lean initiatives.
• Maintains status of ISO and TL 9000 Certification.
• Interfaces with internal groups and customer service to ensure quality issues are addressed in a timely fashion and customer expectations are maintained or exceeded.
• Along with materials management, leads the selection and approval of local suppliers and establishes partnerships which lead to enhanced vendor quality by use of Six Sigma.
• Keeps informed of and provides solutions for all manufacturing problems which require engineering to maintain quality, productivity, timeliness and cost standards; serves as a specialist in specifications, processes, methods and equipment.
• Prepares, justifies and reviews appropriation requests.
• Develops budget for quality assurance department.  Directs operation to achieve budgeted results.
• Responsible for the performance review and development of assigned staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Engineering degree or related technical discipline-required.
• Strong Six Sigma background -- a must.
• Five years of  industrial quality assurance and quality control experience required
• Must have knowledge of statistics and statistical process control (SPC) methods.
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical ability.
• Learn Manufacturing background a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving mindset
• Hands-on management
• Bilingual – English/Spanish
• Previous experience in maquiladora industry

Battery and/or Electrical process and quality experience required.
