Global Commodities Sourcing Manager – Base Metals

C&D TECHNOLOGIES, INC. is a publicly held, global manufacturer of power systems and power supplies headquartered in Blue Bell, PA.  We currently have an opening for a Global Commodities Sourcing Manager.

The Global Commodities Sourcing Manager will assist the management and direction of raw material purchasing, supply chain, inventory and logistics related activities as well as develop short term and long term strategies to ensure both domestic and international sourcing efforts result in the optimum spend.   He/she will ensure supply chain and purchasing activities are integrated with other business operations to avoid building silos and promote accomplishment of the organization’s shared business goals.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and negotiating supplier strategies to maximize the efficiency of raw material spend, identifying supplier qualification requirements, building and maintaining productive third party relationships.
• Assist with the management of inventory and logistic management policies and procedures to streamline operations and maximize efficiencies.
• Integrate and communicate company wide and functional responsibilities and objectives to achieve maximum benefits while standardizing processes and eliminating redundancies and duplication of effort, ensuring that supply chain initiatives have cross-functional linkage.
• Identify areas of opportunity and implement best practices/benchmarking in the following areas: Production Forecasting/Planning and Control, Logistics, Sourcing, and Inventory Management.
• Work with supply chain optimization systems and processes, including supply chain analysis and Materials Management.
• Work closely with Quality team to ensure procurement/sourcing, replenishment purchasing, and manufacturing decisions are in line with corporate quality objectives.
• Address ongoing supply chain issues, developing and implementing integrated solutions through enterprise planning. Implement creative solutions for the procurement of raw materials, supplies and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree with 4 - 8 years experience in Supply Chain strategy, materials management, strategic sourcing and procurement, with strong analytical and problem solving skills in high growth organizations is required.  Experience within a manufacturing or consumer products organization is preferred.
• Certification in materials or purchasing preferred – CPIM, CPM
• Proven track record in influencing organizational change at strategic and tactical levels.
• Six Sigma, TPS or Continuous Improvement programs experience
• MRO sourcing experience
• Knowledge of the manufacturing process / Materials management experience / Good knowledge of procurement policies and procedures
• Must be fully versed with respect to PC based applications.
• Some travel required.
