Senior Supply Chain Manager
C&D TECHNOLOGIES, INC. is a publicly held, global, high-tech manufacturer of power conversion and storage systems. We currently have an opening for a Sr. Supply Chain Manager in our corporate office in Blue Bell, PA.
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain and Logistics is responsible for management of the Global Supply Chain Planning processes for manufactured and purchased items for C&D Technologies and for leading and coordinating all planning and management activities related to the implementation of optimized distribution models for the efficient flow of inventory throughout North America. He/she will serve as the primary liaison between corporate executive management, field operations management and external alliance partners and suppliers to deploy a proactive shipping and freight model.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and improve Sales & Operations Planning processes and hold formal meetings
- Establish and manage processes to create production plans to support sales forecasts and achieve customer service and inventory targets. Establish and manage processes to insure uninterrupted and sufficient supply of goods and services to meet internal and external needs.
- Highlight actual and potential supply risks to allow timely implementation of contingency plans.
- Highlight areas of short or excess capacity.
- Participate in the Product Development processes and Business Planning processes to insure availability of product and a reliable supply chain for all new and existing products
- Balance Production-Sales-Inventory for internally sourced and contracted products, and manage US and global inventories to optimize investment and minimize write-offs
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation to insure that the Planning areas meet current and future goals as business needs and technology change.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques.
Minimum Requirements:
- The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics/Materials Mgmt. along with 10 years of experience in increasingly responsible planning, analysis, project management and operations roles with minimum 5 years supervisory/managerial experience.
- Candidate should demonstrate the following competencies; leadership, development of others, customer service, relationship building, strong communication skills, business acumen, ability to deliver on objectives, and a strong degree of self-awareness.
- Supply chain experience required along with experience in logistics, distribution, order fulfillment, and warehousing.
- APICS or CSCMP Certification is preferred.
- Experience with MS office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Advanced degree preferred.
