C&D Partner Recovery Facility Processes

  • LEAD AND ALLOY METALS:
    Processed through a series of pyrometallurgical processes to produce refined metal ingots, sold for beneficial reuse.

  • SULFURIC ACID:
    Converted on-site to FDA grade anhydrous sodium sulfate for use in the detergent, paper and glass industries; or treated for appropriate disposal.

  • LEAD PASTE / OXIDES:
    Desulfurized with soda ash, filtered and reclaimed as lead metal through a reverbatory furnace.

  • POLYPROPYLENE AND OTHER RECYCLABLE PLASTICS:
    Cleaned and separated, sold for beneficial reuse.

  • STEEL:
    Segregated, washed and sold to steel mill for beneficial reuse.

  • BATTERY SEPARATORS / EDONITE / NON-RECYCLABLE PLASTICS:
    Used as reverbatory fuel, incinerated.

  • SLAG:
    Re-processed through on-site furnaces. Reduced quantity of glass-like, low toxicity materials is sent to a licensed hazardous waste landfill.
