C&D Technologies Names Deb Castle Vice President of Human Resources

Jan 23, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- C&D Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: CHP), a leading global producer and marketer of electrical power storage and conversion products used in telecommunications and industrial applications, announced that Ms. Deb Castle has been named Vice President of Human Resources, effective today.

Deb holds a BA in Industrial Relations from McGill University and a Master's in Industrial Relations from the University of Toronto. Deb spent most of her career with the General Electric Company, beginning in Canada and progressing through roles of increasing responsibility at both the corporate and divisional level in the U.S., the Netherlands and in Singapore.

Deb joins C&D from VWR International, a $3 billion global distributor of laboratory and related products, where she served as Director of Global Talent Development for over 6,000 employees, following a year as Manager, Human Resources, with Textron, Inc. a global conglomerate with over 40,000 employees.
