C&D Technologies Announces Price Increase on Motive and Standby Power Products
BLUE BELL, Pa., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- C&D Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: CHP), a leading North American producer and marketer of electrical power storage and conversion systems used in telecommunications, industrial and motive applications, today announced that a 6% price increase would be implemented on all motive and standby power products, effective November 15, 2006.
"2006 continues to be a challenging year for battery manufacturers, including C&D Technologies," said Leonard Kiely, C&D's Vice President and General Manager of the Power Systems Division. "Continued and sustained price increases on essential commodities used in our battery products necessitate a price increase of 6%. C&D will continue to focus on improving efficiencies and reducing processing costs in order to minimize any further impact on our customers."
