C&D's Pure Lead Plus technology provides the energy density, performance, and ease of maintenance of valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries with the longevity and reliability often associated with flooded (VLA) batteries. Our MSE paste, a key component of pure lead plus technology, combines innovative manufacturing processes with the strategic use of higher purity materials to improve paste life by as much as 40%.

Where most “Pure Lead” batteries in the market offer a pure lead, high purity grid (or thin plate pure lead), PLP with MSE Technology uses both ultra-high purity and tightly controlled active materials made from pure, virgin lead. High-purity grids improve the battery’s resistance to corrosion by eliminating grain boundaries within the grid where corrosion can form. Pure lead active materials allow C&D to closely monitor and control the grain size and purity, reducing the side reactions that can cause corrosion in the first place.

In addition to the paste benefits, our grids are optimized to increase the battery's lifespan. Thanks to a patented blend of lead and alloys, our grids match traditional pure lead grids' corrosion resistance while offering a more rigid structure to better handle frequent discharges and ensure a more efficient power delivery.
